Amanda Benzin


Principal Dancer

AMANDA BENZIN is a native of Buffalo, New York.

She graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance and a minor in Business Administration. During her time at SUNY Buffalo, she performed with the celebrated Zodiaque Dance Company and the Zodiaque Studio Dance Ensemble. In addition to being a company member, she was chosen to perform in and choreograph for many departmental productions, including the Tenth Anniversary of Young Choreographers' Showcase. Upon graduation, Amanda moved to New York City and performed with the Vissi Dance Theatre and modern choreographer, Brandon Ellis. In addition to performing, Amanda has been teaching jazz, tap, ballet, hip-hop, and creative movement to children of all ages in local studios, a pre-school for developmentally and physically disabled children and public schools across New York. She is currently teaching in the Chicago area. Amanda has studied all forms of dance under many renowned choreographers including Bill T. Jones, Doug Varone, Denise Vail, In Young Sohn of Korea, Eager Artists of South Africa, etc. throughout her career, but after her first exposure to Jump Rhythm in their annual Chicago intensive, she was hooked. Amanda has always followed her dreams and passion for dance and she sincerely thanks Jump Rhythm and her supportive and loving family for keeping this passion alive and growing!
