Available to: Intermediate to advanced level dancers; dance teachers of diverse age groups and styles; and tap-dance, percussive-dance, and physical-theatre artists who are interested in deepening their rhythmic approach to dancing, theatrical movement, and vocalizing. Minimum Age: 18
An Orientation and tap placement class will occur on the evening of Sunday the 17th.
Intensive dancers participate in five daily classes: Standing Down Straight ™: A Gravity-Directed, Movement-Efficient Approach to Mind-Body Awareness Jazz: Jump Rhythm Technique™ Tap: Jump Rhythm Tap Repertory: Dances of Jump Rhythm Jazz Project POW!: American Rhythm Dancing and the African American Performance Aesthetic (film-discussion course)
The intensive will be led by JRJP founder and Artistic Director Billy Siegenfeld, along with company members.
Performance Opportunity: There will be a culminating student performance on the evening of Friday, June 22nd.
Tuition: $550 ($450 if enrolled by May 1st) Due June 3, 2011
